CTF competitions are generally divided into online and offline competitions. Usually, online competitions are mostly preliminary rounds, while offline competitions are mostly finals, but direct competitions are not excluded.
Online#
Players register online through the competition platform set up by the organizer, solve problems online, and submit flags. Online competitions are mostly problem-solving mode, and attack-defense mode is less common. Usually, for problems that have not been solved for a long time, the organizer will give hints (Hint) as needed to help players solve the problems.
Offline#
Players go to the competition venue, connect to the competition network on-site, and compete offline. Offline competitions are mostly in AWD mode. In recent years, with the continuous innovation of competition formats, offline competitions will also involve various mixed modes, such as combining problem-solving + AWD, problem-solving + RW, and so on.
